Mar resistance test is similar to a scratch test for coatings, but in a different way: this is to abrasion the coatings evenly covered on the subjects by a circular needle at 45° and keep abrasion until the coating is broken. The minimum load for coating scratches is the load that causes at least 2 out of 5 measurements.
This machine is designed under GB/T 31591-2015 “Determination of abrasion resistance of color paints and varnishes” standard.
