Cupping Indentation Tester XB-OTS-CO201

The cupping test, also known as the indentation test, evaluates the performance of a coating in the film under standard conditions and checks its resistance to cracking or separation from metal after gradually deforming. The minimum depth at which the head penetrates when the paint film is damaged is the cupping index (also known as Erichsen number), unit: mm.

The cupping tester is the latest testing machine designed by OTS. The structure consists of a desktop device with steel in blue coating and a 20mm D. steel ball testing head. Press a certain amount of force onto the unpainted side of the test panel; Rotate the hand wheel at a certain speed (recommended: 0.2mm/s) to push the steel ball upwards, and observe the surface of the test plate through a magnifying glass. When the test panel deforms, and the first crack is observed, immediately stop rotating the hand wheel and read the cup protrusion depth value from the LCD screen.
